Cape Town City Centre Galleries

The waterside hub also hosts various exhibitions throughout the year. Woodstock
One of Cape Town’s oldest suburbs, and now one of the most rapidly evolving, Woodstock has an authentic and vibrant atmosphere. Today, it houses many studios, creative businesses and chic restaurants that give a glimpse into the next leading South African phenom. Here you will find the Stevenson Gallery, Goodman Gallery, WHATIFTHEWORLD, Bronze Age Foundry and Southern Guild Gallery. The Association of Visual Arts (ASA)
The oldest visual arts society in the Cape, housed in an original colony building of 1702, the AVA is devoted to providing a platform for emerging artists. Across the road are the Worldart and Smith galleries which offers more contemporary art exposure. Chandlers House, a Georgian townhouse in historic Church Street would be the next stop, selling paintings and decorative arts of premier artisans with a node to colonial Cape Town. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your very own ‘Çake of Good Soap’ – or splash out on some pottery or painting from up-and-coming artists.
